Good News Everyone!

Written on Friday December 2, 2011 at 7:15 a.m.

I managed to get a copy of all my old blog posts today, so I'll be able to restore some posts at least as old as 2002, there may be older but I didn't have a chance to check how far back the history goes.

I spoke to an advisor at Clark College today, pretty much told me what I had already anticipated, that I should start off slow and take the basic prerequisites before moving forward, and he recommends I start the math track because it's long.

I'm going to do a little more CrowdCompass work, and then I'll take a small excursion to try to get textile or markdown working on my blog posts, maybe I'll tell you guys about how that goes next if it isn't too embarrassing.

P.S. - I got markdown working with Redcarpet ;-)

A New Beginning

So it's been a while since I've made a post, or even had a blog at all. Over Thanksgiving break I decided to finally sit at a computer and finish writing my app for it so I can get started again.

I'm now working at CrowdCompass, and enjoying it very much. I get to work in a Ruby and Rails environment, I have control over design and user experience, and I have wonderful coworkers who are helping me gain experience.

I'm enrolled in school again. I'll be back at Clark beginning Winter quarter, but I need to see an Adviser first before I'll be allowed to register for classes.

I've broken Tedera so now I have to figure out a way to take care of that quickly, because I don't like that site being down. I essentially need to upgrade it to Ruby 1.9.3 and rails 3.1 with the new asset pipeline.

There's more to talk about of course, but that will have to come later. Right now I've got some other matters to tend to.
